4. Traffic signs and road signs are signs that convey information about the direction, location, and distance of the road.

There are 105 kinds of modern road traffic signs, which are divided into two categories: main signs and sub-signs. Among them, the main signs can be divided into four types according to their meanings: warning, instruction, prohibition, and road sign.

 Traffic signs are classified by form:

1. Horizontal signboard: The whole proportion is relatively long horizontally. Generally, the entire surface is used as signage. Generally, it can be seen on the walls of small shops and large buildings.

2. Vertical signboard: The entire proportion is vertically long. Generally, the entire surface is used as signage.

3. Protruding signboard: Protruding on the wall of the building, except for the backside of the case where there are two sides of the wall, both sides are used as the signage of the advertising carrier. For example, flip a sign on three sides.

4. Ground column signs: horizontal, vertical, and three-dimensional signs marked on certain fixed structures on the ground

5. Roof-type signs: It refers to the plate-shaped live-cubic or phantom signs that are set on the roof of a building and hang or stick on the roof of a building.

1. No part of the road traffic sign shall intrude into the boundary of the road building. The installation height of the road test column traffic sign shall take into account its layout specifications, the linear characteristics of the location, whether there is pedestrian traffic, and other factors. Considering the construction error, the deformation and sagging of the signboard, the pavement covering, and other factors, a margin of 50cm needs to be reserved.

In snow-covered areas, snow depth and snow removal methods should be considered. Generally, the clearance height must leave a margin for the thickness of the compacted snow layer.

The standard size of general traffic signs is divided into the following:

Triangle standard size: △700mm, △900mm, △1100mm

Square standard size: 600*600mm, 800*800mm, 2400*1200mm, 3000*2000mm, 3500*2000mm,

4000*2000mm, 4000*2200mm, 4000*2400mm, 5000*2500mm

Round standard size: Ф600mm, 800mm, 1000mm.

1. Red: Indicates prohibition, stop, and danger. It is used for the border, background color, and slashes of prohibition signs. It is also used for cross symbols and slash symbols, and the background color of warning linear guidance signs. Yellow or fluorescent yellow: Indicates a warning and is used as the background color for warning signs.

2. Blue: used to indicate instructions, follow, and used for the background color of the sign: indicate the driving information such as place name, route, direction, etc., and used for the background color of general road guide signs.

3. Green: Indicates driving information such as place names, routes, and directions, and is used as the background color of road signs for expressways and urban expressways.

4. Brown: Indicates the instructions of tourist areas and scenic spots, and is used for the background color of tourist area signs.

 5. Fluorescent yellow-green: Indicates a warning, and is used to pay attention to pedestrians, pay attention to the general rules of use of the shape of children’s warning signs and traffic signs.
